The first Christmas student concert finished successfully. Each students had given their best—the product of everyday effort and hard work. Not only have they gained an experience in performing in front of the crowd, they were able to appreciate the music of others that are diverse in styles and tastes.
Another memorable experience was the performance of the piano version of the Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” together with a recitation and on-screen projection of the picture book of the original tale. The recitation was rendered by Naoko Yakushiji who happens to be a close neighbor of the place. Despite the short preparation time, I think the overall performance went satisfactorily.
